The author masterfully weaves in Yiddish words for an extra fun, educational, and inclusive twist! I’ve never seen a book like this before! The illustrations are beautiful and the glossary at the end of the book is so fun. I got this for our daughters who are still a little young for it but I just couldn’t wait to have it in our library! I also sent it to a dear friend with Jewish roots and she was so thrilled! Whether or not you have any Jewish heritage or fondness for Yiddish, you will go meshugah for this special book! - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Brandon Bosch -- Clever like a Pixar Movie : This children's book is kind of like a Pixar movie. You can tell kids will love it, but it's great for adults too. There are deeply wise aspects to both Gitty and Kvetch and yet they both experience issues that feel real to them. The illustrations are super cute by Ariel Landy Plus love how Caroline Kusin Pritchard's writing and fun use of Yiddish words woven into the story which really gives life to her characters. The story follows two unlikely best friends on an adventure to their new purple treehouse, that goes quickly awry. Their sweet banter is relatable on many levels, and the story allows readers the joy of learning a few new Yiddish words along the way. Highly recommended for the little ones in your life!
